Leave It @ "The Door"

Like the sign that used to remind us, as it hung above the exit doors in Town Hall, I suggest we "leave it at the door"

This means we air our political disagreements here, and inside the Hall, and then leave them as we return to our supportive community in one of the most beautiful places in the World - Trinidad California.

Here at "The Door", my Blog will help me learn more about issues important to us.

My personal site receives no City funding. I am committed to an open and transparent government process - all files here are for general information and entertainment and will always be public. I won't share private addresses, but they may be subject to legal disclosure.

“Harvey Milk was the first openly gay person elected into office in 1977. His speech, ‘You Cannot Live on Hope Alone’, still resonates to this day. Milk was assassinated shortly after giving this speech in 1978.”


"Gay Liberation" in the late 1960s and 70s was a virtuous movement, focusing on ending wicked bullying and violence of gay youth and adults. How was this virtuous movement hijacked?

Began August 5, 1964 in Montana, I was adopted and raised by middle-class parents in the SF Bay Area, California. Experiencing the ups and downs inherent in relationships, I learned some important values from my Dad, especially - "any job worth doing, is worth doing well".

Life’s been more luck than well-planned, but my mother taught me that spiritually, we make our own luck. In San Francisco, I had a successful career as an Art Director, Graphic Design. I also built my first house at 30. I'm grateful for many amazing and inspiring people I’ve met along the way to Trinidad.

Retired almost 30 years, Trinidad keeps me busy with new roles - purchasing and remodeling the town's B&B to create the Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast Hotel, back to school for Emergency Medical and Fire Service at Trinidad VFD, President of Greater Trinidad Chamber of Commerce, and running meetings as Planning Commission Chairman.

As a City Councilmember, I started my job with a renewed commitment to one of my favorite values, and with gratitude for my inspiration - this one is worth doing really well Dad.
